I caught a nasty cold last Saturday, and this particular strain hit me hard and fast. At 9:00 last Saturday morning, I was out running errands, by 10:00, my throat was feeling dry and scratchy, and by 11:00, my sinuses clogged up and my head felt swollen like a pumpkin. It had been so long since I’d had a cold, my treatment protocol was a bit rusty. Never fail, Dr. Abram Ber to the rescue. Dr. Ber, MD, MDh, is a former anesthesiologist who switched to homeopathy in the late 70’s. He has his own practice in Scottsdale, AZ. He is also one of my clients, who I see on Wednesdays and Sundays. When I called him Sunday morning to cancel our session, the good Doc sprang into action. He advised me to have my wife go to Walgreens and purchase a Neti-Pot for sinus rinse. He, in turn, had his wife bring me three natural medicines: 1). A super Neti-Pot solution consisting of elemental silver, 2). a sinus spray also containing elemental silver, and 3). purified and dried calf thyroid, which one put’s under the tongue. Elemental silver is anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-biotic (mainstream research scientists are currently adding silver to pharmaceutical antibiotics to see if it will bolster their effectiveness). I was instructed to use the Neti-Pot 2x/day, the sinus spray every 2 hours, and the calf thyroid 3x/day. Why calf thyroid? Dr. Ber explained that iodine is very helpful for sinus infections, and most Americans are lacking in iodine. Calf or porcine thyroid closely resembles human thyroid, and has no side effects other than an oink or a moo here and there (just kidding). I also beefed up my intake of vitamin C and D, 5,000 mg and 10,000 IU’s respectively. Monday I still felt pretty rough, but by midday Tuesday, I felt like Mr. Bojangles, ready to kick my heels up and dance. I’m sharing this with you since it is cold and flu season, and since none of us like to be sick, you might give it a try. Happy holidays to you all.

Stay well, John R Blilie, M.S.
