I read an article the other day by a physician who by accident, discovered that he had brain cancer. He spoke of a promising new strategy for avoiding cancer or to keep it from coming back.
We all carry cancer cells within us-our immune system is usually very aggressive at destroying them on a daily basis (exercise bolsters the immune system). Two other important natural defenses are our bodily systems that control inflammation, and the foods that we consume.
Foods that fight cancer are the herbs and spices: turmeric (curry), thyme, rosemary, basil, ginger, mint.
Omega-3 fatty acids: sardines, salmon, mackerel, walnuts green vegetables.
Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage.
Garlic, onion, leeks.
Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries.
Pomegranate juice, green tea, red wine.
Avoid refined sugar. Cancer loves a sugar environment-sugar triggers inflammation and fuels cancer growth.
Control stress, which weakens your immune system. Exercise is the best stress reducer, but there are many others such as breathing techniques, meditation, qigong, yoga, etc.
Making these positive changes to your lifestyle greatly increase your body’s ability to resist cancer.
