Yesterdays blog was about some weight loss and some strategies to encourage it. I forgot to mention the apple cider vinegar (ACV). I’ve had a couple of clients lose weight with it by taking 2 tbsp 2x/day, preferably 15 minutes prior to two meals each day. One client, who has suffered from heartburn for years told me her stomach is feeling better; ACV helps to normalize stomach acid (HCL), whose production declines with age.
Now to the sugars. Too much sugar can not only cause obesity, but can cause dental cavities, doubles the risk of pancreatic cancer, high blood pressure and triglyceride levels. According to the Mayo Clinic, there are several sugar aliases, or hidden sugars that you may or may not recognize. They are well hidden under many names including: brown-rice syrup, corn sweetener, corn syrup, dextrose, evaporated cane juice, fructose, fruit-juice concentrate, high-fructose corn syrup, lactose, maltose, molasses, rice syrup, and tapioca syrup.
There are many no-cal and low-cal sweeteners on the market, but unfortunately, none of these has been shown to help one lose weight.
The items I talked about today and yesterday work better.
Stay well, John R Blilie, M.S.
