As you regular readers know, I’ve been away from my blog as of late, while my website undergoes some changes for the better. But, that’s not the only change. I’ve also started to change the way I move throughout the day, and how I exercise, all due to a new approach to restoring my health via natural movement. This change is due, in part, to a great new book I read called Move Your DNA, by Katy Bowman. It’s also due to the fact that I want to minimize, and even eliminate the obnoxious little aches and pains that seem to pop up more frequently these days. The book is an excellent read, for both fitness pros and laymen alike, and I highly recommend it. Since I have instituted just a few of the newer movement and corrective alignment stretches, I’ve been able to get rid of my foot orthotics which I’ve worn for three years (yea), and have suffered no foot pain. I repeat, NO foot pain. This stuff really works-I am so stoked! I can’t wait to see how it works on my sine and hip issues, namely ankylosing spondylitis. And, the fact that the mantra of this book is exercise less, move more-move better, should also appeal to those who don’t really like to exercise. When I get a little further along, I’ll share what I’ve done and provide videos of the movements. Stay tuned.

Stay well, John R Blilie, M.S.
