I’m in the process of writing a book, and I’m including a few personal stories of some of the people I see regularly. These people have had more than their share of life’s bowling balls, and more than enough reasons to not exercise, but they still put up the good fight every day-they take action. To a person, they wish they had started with a fitness program earlier in life. They know what it’s like to be in a motorized scooter every day, how hard it is to do simple things like turning over in bed, getting up off of the toilet, stepping off a curb, changing a light bulb. They tell me, “please tell others, not to wait until this happens to them”. Pick an exercise/activity that keeps you functioning in the best way possible. Do it NOW.

I found this article about low energy-I think we’ve all been there. This was in Dr. Whitaker’s Health & Healing, 3/08. A recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, centenarians who took 2 g of L-Carnitine every day for six months reported less physical, mental, and overall fatigue. They also had markedly lower cholesterol levels, increased muscle mass, enhanced weight loss, and improved endurance. It is also good for people with cardiovascular problems, neuropathy, and improves sexual function in men. Recommended dose is 500 to 2,000 mg/day

Stay well, John R. Blilie, M.S.
